Support Mirembe Words of Wisdom

This Giving Tuesday, we invite you to support Mirembe Words of Wisdom as we continue nurturing confidence, resilience, and wellbeing among students and families in Uganda.

Mirembe’s work centers on school-based programs, storytelling, mentorship, literacy, and family engagement. Through your support, our team can reach more schools, provide culturally grounded wellbeing programs, and offer books and materials that help students grow socially, emotionally, and academically.

Your contribution helps support:

  • Travel for team members to reach school sites across Uganda
  • Books, literacy resources, and educational materials
  • School-based wellbeing programs including mentorship circles, reading days, and resilience-building sessions
  • Community outreach, parent engagement, and opportunities for children to develop leadership

Your generosity ensures that Mirembe continues to grow with students and families who look to us for support.

Mirembe Words of Wisdom Reading Program helps boost the literacy rate of students in the Central Region of Uganda by offering a mobile library that delivers books.

After carefully guided conversations with local communities, we reached a collective decision on basic ways to improve education outcomes for the region. Fostering a Reading culture was a pathway we chose. The task was to build collaboration and partnerships wit local primary schools as well as the families and communities they serve. At the March School Meeting, students learned where some former reading materials of ours have traveled. A native Ugandan who has lived in the States for thirty years brought them to the central part of the country, near Mityana. She set up a mobile check out system and students from twelve schools are enjoying them immensely.
