Week Two – March 13, 2019
Students are instructed and they make organic pesticide and fertilizers. In a big drum, they combine these ingredients
Wild sunflower, wondering weed, goat dung, ash, garlic, urine and other vegetation that decay quickly. All are stored in a drum for 2 weeks.
Some weeding is done, the plants have developed height up to 10 cm
The Mirembe Words of Wisdom Children’s Garden & Nutrition initiative allows junior primary school 4-to-14-year-old students to learn about agriculture and nutrition. They are divided into teams that help clear the land, plant seeds, and take turns watering and caring for the garden.
